The John W. Engeman Studio of the Performing Arts is dedicated to offering curriculum that will educate as well as entertain. We will strive to provide quality instruction delivered by seasoned professionals and Broadway-caliber performers in an effort to raise the skill level of all of its participants to their personal best. It is our intention to provide a professional experience that is unique and rewarding. If you are a performer, student, teacher, or individual who is looking to gain a broader knowledge of the Performing Arts, there is a place in our studio that will allow you to become better at your chosen craft in a professional, educational, and entertaining environment.

Act Like a Princess or Prince!

(Ages 4-8) $35

Calling All Royal Princesses and Princes!

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport invites all young princes and princesses in the making to a very special, one-hour, limited class for your little royal ages 4 – 8. Children will learn how to act, dance, sing, curtsy and present themselves proudly like a real princess or prince. Our young royal court is strongly encouraged to come in their favorite royal apparel.

Parents are invited to stay and they may join us for iced tea and cookies as we present a Royal Parade. The class is taught and hosted by some of your favorite Princesses. All children (other than infants) in the room must be enrolled in the class.

Dancing for Musical Theater

(Ages 10-17) $275
This intermediate level class is for the young performer looking to improve their musical theater dance skills. Taught by professional musical theater dancers, students will explore different styles and techniques often used in Musical Theater.

  • Thursday 5:00-6:00pm

 

Musical Theater I DISCOVERY

(ages 4-6) $375
The perfect opportunity for your young artist to discover the exciting world of musical theater. Students will have an opportunity to act, sing, and dance in an ensemble while learning all the fundamental skills necessary to a beginning performer. Theater games, ensemble vocals, movement exercises and beginning theatre dance techniques will all be part of this age-appropriate curriculum.

THE ENGEMAN JUNIORS production of CINDERELLA, Kids!

 

(grades 2 – 5) $395

Dates: February 6- May 8, 2017
Times: Mondays from 5:00-6:30 pm
Ages: Open to students enrolled in 2nd – 5th grade as of 9/16
Performance Date: May 8, 2016
All students will receive Musical Theater instruction as they rehearse and perform a production of CINDERELLA, KIDS on the John W. Engeman Theater
stage! Additional rehearsals will be required the week prior to the performance.
Every child enrolled in our Juniors production will perform in the show!

 

 

SPRING 2017 THE ENGEMAN PLAYERS production of THE PAJAMA GAME

Classes begin February 7, 2017

Times: Tuesdays from 6-8:30 pm (with additional rehearsals called as needed)
Ages: Open to students enrolled in 6th-12th grades as of September 2016
Performance Dates: May 21 & May 22, 2017
Cost: $495 (payment plan available)

2017 MUSICAL THEATER SUMMER CAMP

MUSICAL THEATER SUMMER CAMP gives every child a chance to learn essential performing skills while spending a fun summer with their peers.
Campers will be immersed in the world of Musical Theater and given the opportunity to be taught and directed by theater professionals. At the end of each session, they will perform a musical theater production on our professional stage complete with lights, sound and costumes!

 

ALL SESSIONS:

Full Time Camp:
M-F, 9am – 3pm

Part Time Camp:
M/W/F, 9am – 3pm
